I've been bingeing Sex Education Season 3 and have feelings.
Yes, it is hard to keep the story arc going between Maeve and Otis but I quite liked that they got dialled down more and that the "reveal" of the deleted text message was highlighted pretty early and actually made little difference to their trajectory.
I loved the Eric/Adam relationship and its painful evolution. Eric is such a joyous character happy or sad.
I like that Isaac is difficult and selfish and there is no painting of someone with a disability as angelic.
I adored the Ruby/Otis story line. Her painful and poignant exposure of saying I love you without the expected response.
I thought the handling of the NB characters, Cal and the other person, storyline was really good and, as usual, felt very schooled on stuff I am woefully ignorant of.
I found the head teacher too much of a stock villainess with a pretty unconvincing backstory but her lipstick was excellent.
I was disappointed at the Amy story arc - good that they outlined how her sexual assault carried so much reverberation into the now but bad that they only gave her vulva cupcakes as a signal of her growing self awareness.
I was puzzled by the Jakob/Jean story - nothing in the previous seasons had made me expect him to be so lacking in trust so that felt off plus the moving in together stuff seemed bonkers.
I am excited to keep company with these characters and more into another season. In the meantime, I am planning to watch from the beginning.
