My boss is returning to the Middle East as covid has put paid to his commuting back and forth plans and it's a long and tedious story but he is going. He has a small flat here with bachelor stuff and has kindly given my daughter his vacuum cleaner and ironing board and contents of his spice cupboard. This meant I had to load up my car last night and god, his over explaining and insistence on packing my car made me glad I am not married. Anyway, the kid has a modicum more stuff in her apartment and got the good news on a promotion and a commensurate pay rise which makes her very happy and really lifts the strain on counting every single penny.
I sold two more things on Facebook marketplace last night but the big things are not shifting which is super annoying given the impending move.
Finally, I finished the Tana French I was reading. The last 150 pages were quite good and paced but, man, it was dark, dark, dark and I need to find something cheerful to read now.
Was it Faithful Place or Broken Harbor?

Elle, it was The Trespasser. I liked Broken Harbour but this one was like like spending too much time in the head of a very depressed person.

I felt the same abt Faithful Place -- the one about the elopement, right? & what you're saying about The Trespasser, I remember it and I can see what you mean. I haven't finished this Witch Elm book because ... I don't know why lol.
