I started my return to work with a trip to the dentist for a clean and a check up. I am trying to avoid several trips to the periodontist (and $2000) with more regular cleans. The dentist asked me if I had trouble sleeping. He is obsessed with the link between sleep disorders and gum disease. Doesn't everyone have trouble sleeping these days?
Last night we went to see the Dry. It was ho hum. I enjoyed the book but it was a bit of cliche on screen.
The news from Georgia is heartening (is it just me who has only just discovered Jon Ossoff's mother is Australian?) but the news from the Capitol is dreadful.
I also enjoyed the (audio)book of The Dry, but suspected it wouldn't translate terribly well into film. I think you'd lose a lot trying to cram everything into a short period - part of what made it was that slow reveal.
I felt much the same about the Jack Irish books - watched the first film and was very "yeah, nah" - loads of important bits missing.
I always struggle to think of any good movie adaptations!
