When I said a couple of weeks ago I was going to cook more non-meat food, I immediately went in to a craving for fried chickens and lamb cutlets but last night I made this which was astonishingly good. I didn't use cottage cheese but instead mixed the horseradish with a bit of creme fraiche that was hanging around the kitchen and I actually used a tin of lentils but rinsed them and added thyme and garlic. It was easy and delicious. I'm having leftovers cold for lunch today.
*this is not the dish I cooked last night but something similar from Ottolenghi where the blue cheese is the sharp note against the creamy lentils
I watched Junior Masterchef which continues to be a delight and a balm to the soul. Not so soothing was the stupid cat deciding to stay out all night and me having anxiety dreams about having to wake up for the cat. When I got up to make tea at just before 6, there he was outside with a small rodent and no desire to come in. He is now napping the day away but I am working at home and will turf him out before this afternoon so we don't have a repeat of those escapades.
The kid has had an offer accepted for an apartment. I am so excited for her and her new little home. She was lucky enough to come in to a small inheritance from her grandfather for a deposit but she has worked really hard to get additional savings and her mortgage in line.
Congratulations to the kid! That's really great!

@carolbaby we are lucky that it is vaguely achieveable in our city - her sister in Sydney received the same windfall but it would need to be 3x bigger for her to hope of doing anything similar in Sydney
