The best book I have read this year

I started Such a Fun Age with a cup of tea in bed on a rainy morning and after a full day of activity finished it at midnight with the rain still teeming down.  What a wonderful writer Kiley Reid is, and how excruciating to see yourself in some of the characters.  As someone who has paid many babysitters for their emotional labour in loving my children, I am far from immune to the power imbalance in that relationship. Ouch.

Also, this Tik Tok on Henri Bendel is cute.
