I hear you, children eating breakfast, yes!

Everything being equal, I will always take a bus. The only downside to the bus as a NYC traveler is there is (was?) no street-level MetroCard kiosk.

I don't like being underground, it's drippy, there are rats, what abt the flu, etc. If the bus is late, I can walk along the bus route. If the subway is delayed, the crowd giving me typhoid gets bigger every minute. If the bus breaks, you get off. If the subway breaks, no!


Yes, the kiosk thing is annoying. Also, I have learned more on how the streets and districts orient together in two weeks on the buses than I have in 7 months on the subway. Plus you can easily go cross town! People here act as if going cross town requires a pilgrimage.

I am so with you on the buses. Always love the top deck in Edinburgh or London :)
