Since I had failed to book tickets to the James Turrell exhibition, we went to the cinema instead to see The Imitation Game. The kid is an ardent Sherlock fan so it took nothing to persuade her. I had nagging at me the memory of a BBC play of the same name. I remember it coming out the same time as Strangers on a Train and I couldn't remember if it were Poliakoff or McEwen. With some judicious googling it turns out to be McEwen but that was a golden year for bbc drama.
Anyway, it was very good - a bit A Brilliant Mind and a bit Sherlock but enjoyable just the same. The story is so astoundingly good, it makes for good drama and underscores again the shameful treatment he received.
The other movie which has been high rotation chez anyresemblance is Guardians of the Galaxy. I saw it first on a plane to India and liked it but it is way more enjoyable on any screen larger than 6" square. I've been singing the soundtrack constantly. The soundtrack reminds me of a playlist that elle posted somewhere with king crimson and all though that must have been a decade earlier. My daughter reminded me that the David Bowie song was also in School of Rock. I did something right in their upbringing. One of them described someone to me as smart. What makes you think that, I asked? He knows who Warren Zevon is.
I don't know who Warren Zevon is but I can report that the oldest kid is safe and well and has just had pancakes for breakfast!

I took the Junior Counsel (Mr 16) with me yesterday to see the Imitation Game which we both thoroughly enjoyed. I agree, cracking good story all round and highlights the need to value and embrace diversity.

Our cinema has closed for the cyclone season and while piratebay means I have not missed out on the horror of Annie, I do miss the cinema experience; lucky you.
I had to Google Warren Zevon.
