Today was the most delicious of Sundays. I got up early to take my sister to the airport where she commenced the long haul to the Pilbara (10 hours later, she is still travelling, which reminds me it will take me less time to get all the way to Singapore next week) and then came home and ate toast and drank tea and finished my book and skyped with my brother.
The weather has dramatically shifted to autumn and Charlie and I went for a walk through the long grass. I then trekked over to Costco to replenish stocks of loo roll, tinned tomatoes and cheap-o shampoo. This was followed by the baking of a courgette cake, red velvet cupcakes, scotch eggs and a spinach and filo pie, several loadings and unloadings of dishwashers, folding laundry and the drinking of tea. I talked on the phone with an old friend and got an invitation to a wedding.
Right now, the kids are out with the dog, there is pork roasting in the oven smelling all fennel and garlicky and all is right with the world.
