Elle

There is a bit in Iñárritu's Babel where the tiny charges complain from the backseat they can't go to Mexico because the adults in their ken say it's dangerous. Gael García Bernal turns to them & says, "Oh, it is: it's full of Mexicans." In his delicious & savory delivery of that line is your answer, sadly.

We went when I was a child & I was devastated by the poverty & none of the adults in our party took the time to talk me through it with regard for values they claimed to have all the rest of the time. Is prob why as a mother I can never, ever shut up with the analyses.

We have lost bags right now, but hey! I have my own blog, I guess. xoxox

Elle, I am so ignorant, I did not even know there was a trilogy. I am hot footing it to watch them all now. I am also obsessed with finding perfect histories of Mexico to read. I am sad to say I studied Latin American history for a semester at college and can barely remember a thing. Sorry about the bags. I hope you have better luck in negotiating their return.

Looks spectacular. Have been to Mexico but only as far as tijuana and some other place where they filmed titanic. I was young and drinking a lot of Margaritas.

Glad the bags turned up eventually.
