Hi this is comment for yesterday's entry. If you are recommending cookery books by Nigel Slater you might also want to look at TOAST which has just been published in the UK. It is a memoir of a boy (and of food) in the seventies growing up in a fairly stifling middle class household. It may not have the same resonance for people who don't know about Angel's Delight and quite how exotic pasta used to seem. I got the book as a Christmas present and really enjoyed it.



You, of course, being the first person I knew with a copy of Real Fast Food and you cooked me the cod with lemon and butter sauce! Thanks for this recommendation
